In line with government guidelines and the Baptist Union's advice we have had to make the sad decision to cancel all services and meetings at Borstal Baptist Church until further notice. We will let you know when normal service will be resumed as soon as we can. In the meantime, be assured that you and our community as a whole are in our prayers over these coming weeks.
If anybody is self isolating, due to being at risk or showing symptoms, and needs anything - even just a chat - we as a church are still here for you. Please phone us (numbers on the 'Contact Us' page) and if we can help, we will.
As Christians we have been called to take part in a National Day of Prayer and Action about the coronavirus on Sunday 22 March. We will be lighting a candle in our window at 7:00pm on Sunday “as a visible symbol of the light of life, Jesus Christ”. If you would like to be part of this by lighting your own candle, please do (but do be careful of your net curtains and don't leave a lit candle unattended, please!).
Take care of yourselves, and of each other - now is definitely the time to 'love your neighbour'.
We are glad that you are here and we hope you will find what you are looking for. If you have recently moved into the area, or if perhaps want to visit the church for the first time, we give you a very warm welcome. We hope you will feel at home among us.
Some people still associate the church with a building but the church is really about people. It’s about valuing each other and encouraging people to grow in the love of God and serving our community.
We have lots of different activities each week to which you are most welcome. More information can be found on the menu pages along the top of this page.
We have a lift that enables access to all levels of the church building. We also have an accessible toilet and baby change facilities, as well as a hearing loop system.
Sunday 10.30am (communion most weeks) followed by refreshments, and there is provision for children.
To see our next big service/celebration please click on 'Upcoming Events' at the top of this page.
For what is happening in any specific week please see the monthly NEWSLETTER or the calendar.
