FELLOWSHIP NEWS

Welcome to2009. The leadership of the church trust that you had a relaxing Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year together with great anticipation of what God will do for and through us.

Do please remember two of our fellowship who are in hospital. Jean Perren has suffered a major stroke and was rushed to hospital last Thursday. She is very poorly and not responding at all well to any treatment. Iris Feltham also remains in hospital while her leg heals. This too is not happening as quickly as she would wish.

Graham Peters has had a scan and a small operation over the Christmas period. Give thanks that the operation was only to take a biopsy as the tumour that was anticipated turned out not to exist. Graham is recovering at home and now has to wait a couple of weeks for the results of the scan and biopsy.

Also give thanks that Vicki Peters is now settled in to her new flat, which is much nearer her work and so will greatly reduce the cost and time spent travelling each day.

Please remember all these folk in your prayers this week.

COVENANT SERVICE TO START 2009

This morning is our annual Covenant Service where we rededicate ourselves as a fellowship both to God and to one another.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES - HOUSEGROUPS

Parent & Toddlers, Kingsquad, the Wednesday prayer meeting and the Ladies Fellowship all recommence this week. Times are shown overleaf. There will be three house groups this year. One meets on Wednesday at the home of Anne and Terry Sewell, one on alternate Thursdays in the church lounge commencing on 15 January and hopefully one new one at the home of Pete and Helen Griffiths on the other Thursday starting on 22 January.

SETTLEMENT GROUP MONDAY 12 JANUARY

The Settlement group will be meeting on Monday week to interview a potential minister. They meet at 7.30am with our Moderator just to prepare and then at 8.00 pm with the candidate. Do please pray that God will continue to make the way clear to us all.

BI MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING MONDAY 19 JANUARY

There is a regular prayer meeting on Wednesday mornings in the church vestry at 9.00am. There is also our Bi-monthly prayer meeting. The date has had to be changed again. The next meeting will therefore be held at 8.0 pm on Monday 19 January. We do hope that you will be able to make every effort to join us in the church lounge that evening. There will be an update on the Settlement Group progress following the interview the previous week.
