Who and Where
Julie Aylward: Minister
Julie has something in common with Paddington Bear – they were
both born in Darkest Peru though she has lives most of her life
in the south east of England! Julie is married to Tony (who is a lay preacher, great singer,
youth worker and heavily involved in the Baptist Men’s Movement
– oh and he works!). They have three daughters, a foster
daughter and two grandchildren. Julie trained at Spurgeons
College and has been in ministry since 2005, first in Leicester,
and now here in Borstal. Before becoming a minister she worked in a playgroup and then in
primary and secondary schools working with children with special
needs. In her spare time Julie loves reading, music, going to the cinema
and theatre, going out with friends, and being by the sea. Julie and
Tony support Wasps rugby team. She also loves talking with people and is passionate about
getting out into the community to show God’s love in practical ways.
So if you see here around the village please do stop her – she’d
love to chat with you.

Suzanne Rogers: Church Secretary
Suzanne Rogers: Church Secretary Suz has been part of our church
since she was a teenager. As well as being Church Secretary, she is
also one of our Deacons and helps lead our Kingsquad, Youth Group
and Sunday School. Suz believes strongly in Christians working together across the denominations and says this is why she works for the Church
of England! In her spare time, Suz likes to read, tweet and surf the net. Whilst
not exactly the sporty type, she’s taken up running to try and get
fit, so if you see her in the village dressed oddly and looking
exhausted, give her a cheer.| Suzanne Rogers: | deacon@borstalbaptistchurch.org.uk | 07809 433723 |

The church is licensed for weddings and we also are able to conduct funerals and baby dedications. If you would like to talk about us serving you in this way please get in touch with the minister.
We are Members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the South East Baptist Association
The Basis of the Baptist Union is:
1. That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.
2. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who 'died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again the third day'.
3. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.
